Louise and Joseph Simone have been a team since 1975 when they first establish their studio. They have put forth a continous effort to produce high quality images throught the art of portrait photography. Thier reputation has crossed various frontiers as they are frequently invited to teach seminars in France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Canada, and United States. They are still very involved in teaching seminars today and continue to gain experience in this aspect of their profession.

 


You might define them as observers of humanity, as an intensely collaborating team or more simply as a closely knit couple. In essence, it is the joint dedication and talents of Louise and Joseph Simone which have enabled them to rise to the highest levels in the art ot portraiture.

Both hold many prestigious titles among which is "Master of Photographic Arts" of Quebec, of Canada as well as of the United States; they have also been named "Photographer of the Year" several times.

Their reputations have gone well beyond local boundaries as they are frequently invited to speak at seminars of professionel photographers across Canada and in Europe.

In this video, Louise and Joseph Simone invite you to share in their knowledge of and expertise in lighting and composition. Their techniques are reminiscent of the manner in which great classical master painters and photographers have presented their subjects.

This document is an invaluable tool for those whose goal is mastery of the art and techniques of distinctive portraiture. It demonstrates how to achieve this with readily available equipment and with a minimum of imagination and creativity.

In holding with the tradition for quality in the art of portrait photography, this document was shot on Eastman Color 35 mm film.
